Delivery options for your digital files include USB stick, USB hard drive, or download. You are welcome to provide your own blank USB media for your files, or we can provide new blank USB media at minimal cost. A suitable USB stick is usually under $15 and will hold several hours of video.

Your video assets will be delivered as h.264 files for universal playback, or Prores files on request for professional editing software.

Precision Video Service offers video tape transfer and digitizing services to convert your old video tapes to digital files. We utilize best practices and well maintained VCR’s and VTR’s to deliver beautiful high quality results. Delivery options include USB stick, USB hard drive, or download. Your video will be delivered as h.264 files for universal playback, or Prores files on request for professional editing software.

Some older tapes may require treatment before playback. Treatment can include baking to resolve "sticky shed", removal of mold, splicing broken tapes, and more. This is most common with Umatic and reel-to-reel tapes. Baking is included in the standard fee (if needed). Mold removal and splicing may incur an additional charge depending on the severity.

Analog tape formats are processed through one of our several broadcast quality Digital Timebase Correctors (TBC’s) to stabilize the video for best possible capture quality. During capture we use a waveform monitor and vectorscope to QC your video in realtime, making corrections only where appropriate and beneficial.

Most digital tape formats are captured using SDI to ensure the best possible capture quality.
